After years of brutal flat irons and hard-core hair straighteners, the time has come to go au natural and embrace my natural curls. With this new-found hair freedom comes another world of hair potions and creams specifically for the curly set. But is there a product that will softly smooth yet define my curls (no crunchy hair allowed!), keep them bouncy and soft, be nice to my hair (meaning natural, earthy ingredients) and smell really luscious, too?

But is there a product that will softly smooth yet define my curls (no crunchy hair allowed!), keep them bouncy and soft, be nice to my hair (meaning natural, earthy ingredients) and smell really luscious, too? Enter Desert Essence Coconut Soft Curls Hair Cream! With coconut oil and extracts to protect, nourish, and hydrate along with black oat and nopal cactus to help repair hair, this light and effective hair cream gave me just what I wanted – beautiful, defined, shiny curls that are light to the touch and smell divine. Plus, the desert-derived botanicals plus the coconut oil strengthen hair and guard against environmental stressors. Just work a small dollop into wet hair, and diffuse dry or style as usual. No-fuss, bouncy curls are here to stay! - Jennifer Dowden
Unlike my dear friend Jen, I still fight my curls most mornings. With my fine hair, I’m always looking for a hydrating product that won’t weigh my hair down. Desert Essence’s Coconut Shine & Refine Hair Lotion moisturized and tamed my frizzies without jeopardizing volume. Avena strigosa seed extract (black oat), blended with coconut oil and extract helps repair damaged hair. Yucca cactus and aloe add volume and shine. Oleic acid-rich safflower oil and panthenol quickly penetrate and smooth. It works well and it smells delicious. And it’s great because a little goes a long way! - Danielle DeBow
