With the holidays fast approaching, you might be starting to think about what sorts of tasty snacks to put out when company comes to town. You can’t go wrong with a nicely composed cheese plate — but don’t just cube some cheddar and call it a day! Try our suggestions for a well-rounded fall cheese tray:
- Schloss by Marin French Creamery: This Austrian-style washed rind triple crème features hints of brandy, fruit, and sour cream with a buttery richness. It pairs nicely with Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut Sparkling Wine, a Pinot Noir-dominated California bubbly with pear and floral notes on the nose, followed by lemon, green apple and toasted almond on the palate.
- Taleggio by CasArrigoni: A classic Italian washed rind cheese, Taleggio features a distinctive square shape and fudgy consistency. Pair it with Petaluma Hills Brewing Company Line & Twine IPA. This amber-colored beer is backed by aromas of grapefruit and pine, with a nice, hoppy, caramel finish.
- Fromager D’affinois Campagnier by Guilloteau: This delectable soft cheese features a distinctive orange rind and has a thick and buttery texture. Pair it with Sonoma Coast “The Forager” Pinot Noir, a perfect blend of new world fruit and old world finesse, with notes of ripe cherry, blackberry, dried roses and cola.
