At Nugget Markets we believe in the wines we sell. Even so, it’s nice to have third party confirmation sometimes. We get that from the prominent wine publications and independent wine writers like The Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Wines & Spirits, James Suckling and others, most which use the 100 point scale.

When rating the wines, these critics are looking at quality typical for the region and vintage—wines that have excellent fruit, acid, tannin and oak (if used) balance. A score of 90 points or more is reserved for the outstanding wines of superior quality that have impressed the critics enough to be in the top 10% of their peer group.
Ratings of 90 points or above are more common for the costlier wines because they have been made using expensive new oak and are often smaller production wines with a lot of hands-on techniques. To make sure you get the best of both worlds, we’ve searched far and wide and assembled a collection of wines that have scored 90 points or higher and are also under $20. With high-end quality at affordable prices, these wines represent real value!
Whether you’re looking for wines for dinner or as a gift for someone special, come in now through the end of the year and check out our display of these fantastic 90 point wines.
