You don’t have to work in Santa’s workshop to build a beautiful Christmas creation! Bust out your baking skills and this handy printable template to make your own gingerbread house from scratch!
You don’t have to work in Santa’s workshop to build a beautiful Christmas creation! Bust out your baking skills and this handy printable template to make your own gingerbread house from scratch!
1. Print out the attached template and cut out each piece.
2. Lay the paper shapes on rolled out gingerbread dough and cut out the following pieces:
- 2 Front & Back Panels - For the front piece, cut along the dotted line to make a separate door.
- 2 Side Panels
- 2 Roof Panels
- 1 Each of 4 Chimney Pieces
3. Bake cut-out cookies according to recipe directions, then remove from oven and let cool completely.
4. Decorate cooled cookies with icing as you see fit!
5. Pipe royal icing along the side and bottom edges of the front and back panels. Stand front panel upright on a cutting board, foil-lined piece of cardboard or your choice of foundation, then attached side and back panels.
6. Once all four walls are in place and dry, pipe icing along all top edges and affix roof panels.
7. Once roof is dry and stuck firmly in place, use icing to assemble all four chimney pieces and place on rooftop.
8. Decorate your gingerbread house with more icing, miniature candy canes, sprinkles, etc. to your heart’s content!
