Gérard Bertrand Perles de Sauvignon Blanc: This producer was named European Winery of the Year in 2016, not only for the quality of their wines, but also their commitment to organic, biodynamic and environmentally friendly farming practices. Five months of barrel aging give this elegant sauvignon blanc a full texture, and its citrus aromas make it a perfect match for seafood.
Castello d’Albola Chianti Classico: Made from grapes grown in the gentle rolling hills of Tuscany above the town of Radda, this wine is a brilliant ruby red color, and tastes exactly like a Chianti should. Fresh and fruity, it has plenty of dark cherry and floral aromas and flavors that scream Sangiovese.
Benziger Cabernet Sauvignon: Arguably the best value cabernet sauvignon on our shelves, this wine is made with a large portion of organically farmed grapes from all over Sonoma County. Very elegant from start to finish, it features pronounced dark blackberry fruit flavors with a touch of vanilla and mocha from the oak aging, with seamlessly integrated tannins. Easily worth twice the price.
Giocato Sauvignon Blanc: This wonderful wine is made with grapes grown in Slovenia just across the border from Northern Italy, a region that excels in white varieties such as sauvignon blanc. Very clean and bright with taut acidity, this wine has a compelling array of stone fruits and minerals on the palate. Made by one of the top wineries in the region, their pinot grigio is worth a sip as well.
Kermit Lynch Cotes Du Rhone Rouge: You can always rely on this wine for consistent excellent quality. A typical Rhone red blend of Grenache and Syrah, with a few other local varieties blended in, it is beautifully crafted, medium-bodied and full of sun-baked fruits and hints of local olives and herbs. It’s an extreme pleasure to drink on its own or to enjoy with grilled red meats.
