Sudwerk Brewing Hefeweizen – Winner of Best German Wheat Beer: It comes as no surprise to us that this brewer and beer won this category. As a longtime producer of traditional German styles, Sudwerk creates a textbook example of what a hefeweizen should taste like. This authentic, unfiltered style wheat ale has clove spice, citrus fruit and banana notes. Dry and refreshing at 4.2% ABV, it’s a perfect summer sipper.
Coronado Seacoast Pilsner – Winner of Best Standard American Beer: The USA has always been known for its light, easy-drinking lager-style beers, but don’t let this one fool you. This highly drinkable beer is packed with Czech Saaz and German Hallertau hops. Fresh hop aromas are followed by lightly toasted biscuit and lemon citrus flavors. The mild carbonation and clean bitter finish make it a very good beer that’s easy to enjoy.
