Cooler weather, shorter days, pumpkin spice everything… there are a few things that just go with fall. One of our favorites is comfort food, specifically of the cheesy kind. Channel that special feeling of autumn with these delicious artisan cheese, wine and beer pairings:
Guilloteau Fromager d’Affinois Campagnier + Sonoma Coast The Forager: This delectable soft cheese features a distinctive orange rind and has a thick and buttery texture. Pair it with the ripe cherry, blackberry, dried roses and cola notes in this pinot noir, a perfect blend of new world fruit and old world finesse.
CasArrigoni Taleggio + Heretic Make America Juicy Again IPA: Taleggio is a classic Italian washed rind cheese with a distinctive square shape and fudgy consistency. Pair it with this luscious, hazy IPA that’s all dry hopped for a big, juicy hop flavor profile.
Marin French Cheese Schloss + Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut Sparkling Wine: This Austrian-style washed rind triple crème features hints of brandy, fruit and sour cream with a buttery richness. Enjoy with this pinot noir-dominated California bubbly featuring pear and floral notes on the nose, followed by lemon, green apple and toasted almond on the palate.
When choosing accompaniments, stay consistent with seasonal flavors and textures like Honeycrisp apples, red grapes, Raincoast Crisps (original or rosemary) and La Saison Napa Valley Roasted Almonds.
