As we enter the holiday season when family and friends who are like family gather, our pros put together this month’s featured wine list with get-togethers in mind. From the often fickle viogner to easy-drinking pinots, this set is all about sharing with friends.
Cline Viognier: The viognier grape is one of the ficklest to grow and produce wine from, but the good folks at Cline seem to have a few tricks up their sleeves. Sustainability farmed, this wine has flavors and aromas of pears, apricots, orange blossom and honeysuckle.
Siduri Santa Barbara Pinot Noir: This is the newest addition to the terrific roster of pinot noirs from this pinot-centric producer, and it’s a real crowd pleaser. Big, lush, fruity and easy drinking without being over the top, it’s a great value to boot.
CrossBarn Pinot Noir: Look no further for your Thanksgiving dinner wine—we’ve found it for you! Made from Sonoma Coast fruit by Paul Hobbs, the wine has structure, complexity and sumptuous fruit not usually found in this price range.
Gérard Bertrand Crémant de Limoux Brut: For the longest time, the sparkling wines of Limoux have been overshadowed by their more famous cousin, Champagne. All that is changing now due to wines like this that really over-deliver on quality. With hints of white flower, honey, green apple and toasted notes, it’s perfect for any occasion, not just the special ones.
