Cune (CVNE) Ribera Del Duero, 2016: This long-established Rioja producer (hailing back to 1879), is now making wine in the neighboring Ribera Del Duero region. This 100% tempranillo is aged for five months in American oak to create a deep, ruby-colored wine with medium body that’s fun, fruity and easy to enjoy.
Honig Sauvignon Blanc, 2017: Family-owned, sustainably farmed and solar-powered, this California winery has long been one of our favorites. Loaded with grapefruit, green apple and ripe pear with a nice lengthy finish, their sauvignon blanc has always over delivered on quality for the price.
Feudi Di San Gregorio Falanghina, 2016: This ancient Italian grape, believed to perhaps come over from Greece, produces a wine of straw yellow color with a lemon-herb profile, notes of almond and orange peel character, and aromas of pine and citrus blossom. This producer makes our favorite version by far. If you like sauvignon blanc, give this wine a try—we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Parmelee-Hill Night Cap Zinrah, 2014: Steve Hill and his wife, Gwen, have been farming grapes in the Sonoma Valley region for the last 35 years. Their vineyards are meticulously maintained and their fruit is hand-picked at night and hand-sorted for quality assurance. This delicious zinfandel and syrah blend offers medium tannins with notes of dried cherries and savory spice.
