Compart Pork: The "Black Angus" of the Pork World
Please note that this is an older article. Any products or services pictured or described may have changed or may no longer be available. Thank you for visiting!
In our meat departments we are offering a new premium pork, known as Compart Duroc Pork. Duroc is a breed of pig that excels in meat quality, documented in tests performed by the National Pork Producers. Pork is widely known as “the other white meat,” but the Duroc breed yields a dark pink to dark reddish pink, which is the most desirable color to look for when shopping for pork. Darker reddish pork typically will be juicier, more tender and have a higher pH, which is essential for superior eating quality.

Offering these great characteristics, Compart has used the phrase “The Black Angus of Pork” for the Duroc pork they breed. As someone who loves eating pork, I must say that this is the most flavorful and tender pork I have ever barbecued. Currently in our store we carry Compart boneless loin chops, bone-in center cut loin chops and individually vacuum-sealed pork tenderloins. Come by our meat departments for these fine-quality meats. • Angel Nolasco (Meat & Seafood)
