As another year comes to a close, it’s time to break out the good stuff! End 2019 on a high note with these wonderful wines hand-picked by our pros to suit every palate and price point.
Meadowcroft Cabernet Sauvignon: Very smooth and polished with hints of oak on the finish, this is a very nicely made Napa cabernet sauvignon at a great price. We don’t often see good Napa cabernet at these prices—get it before it’s gone!
The Prisoner Red Blend: Arguably the most famous red wine from Napa Valley these days, this year’s version (the 2018 vintage) is the best we’ve tasted in a while. A blend of zinfandel, cabernet sauvignon, petite sirah, syrah and charbono, it’s lush and full of ripe dark fruits without being too sweet.
Domaine Carneros Brut Sparkling Wine: This vintage sparkling wine, in our opinion, is one of the best California has to offer. It starts with cool climate chardonnay and pinot noir fruit and finishes with 3 years minimum aging in the bottle.
Sean Minor Point North Pinot Noir: This California producer ventured north into Oregon’s Willamette Valley to produce this little gem. Dark fruit, spice, earthy notes and round tannins fill out this complex pinot noir.
J. Moreau & Fils Chablis: This producer has been making chablis wines since 1814. This classic offering has a balance of fruit, mineral and terroir, plus light tangerine, pineapple and hints of salinity. It’s aged eight months on its lees for a nice creamy texture.
Be sure to drop by the adult beverage department at your local Nugget Markets for these and a wide variety of other fine wines, craft beers and spirits. Need help with pairings or gift ideas? Our wine stewards are always happy to help!
