If you want to make your own compound gin, experiment with these basic guidelines and your favorite botanicals to create an A+ solution.
- Combine 2 cups vodka with 2 tablespoons juniper berries and steep for 12 hours.
- Add desired botanicals and steep for 36 hours. Common botanicals include cloves, star anise, cardamom, angelica root, citrus peel and cubeb berries.
- Strain twice through cheesecloth to remove botanicals.
- Enjoy the fruits of your labor neat, on the rocks or in a classy cocktail.
