Our Floral department is known for the freshest, most beautiful blooms thanks to great growers like Full Belly Farm! This summer, our Floral leaders took a field trip to the farm to gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to plant, grow, harvest and bundle the flowers we get in our stores. Our team also got to know the Full Belly family, learned some fun facts and had a ton of fun!

Based in the beautiful Capay Valley of Yolo County, Full Belly Farm is a 400-acre certified organic farm that has been using organic farming practices since 1985. Committed to long-term sustainable strategies and environmental goals, this local farm grows amazing organic produce in harmony with nature. Full Belly Farm also works hard to keep their team employed year around, with different fruits, veggies, nuts and flowers growing throughout the seasons.
On the field trip, our team got to talk to one of the farm owners, Dru Rivers, and her daughter, Hannah. The ultimate mother-daughter flower power duo taught our team more about organic farming practices, the challenges farmers face in a drought and why rotating crops is so important for soil health. They also gave our floral team a farm tour through fields of beautiful sunflowers!
Drop by our Floral department this summer to find gorgeous organic sunflowers, consumer bunches and bouquets fresh from Full Belly Farm. You can also find delicious organic produce like peppers, heirloom tomatoes and squash in our Produce department while they’re still in season. This fall, be on the lookout for dried bouquets from Full Belly Farm... coming soon!
