Love farm to fork? Fill your belly with fresh produce from a local institution and one of our longtime partners in ag—Full Belly Farm! This local, certified organic farm has been growing premium produce in the beautiful Capay Valley of Yolo County since 1985. Led by six partners dedicated to the roots of what it means to truly be organic, this 400-acre farm does everything they can to grow great food in harmony with nature.
Committed to long-term sustainable strategies and environmental goals, Full Belly Farm looks at organic farming as a proactive process from the ground up, literally! They work to support soil health by creating layers of life throughout their farm. Animals fertilize soil that produces flowers which bring bees who pollinate vegetables which feed us (and the animals) and so on, creating a complex, symbiotic dynamic that benefits everything in it.
Full Belly Farm also takes care of their team by providing year-round employment with all kinds of different fruits, veggies, nuts, and flowers growing throughout the seasons. To keep their footprint small, they only sell their goods within a 120-mile radius of their farm (our headquarters is only 45 miles away!). And they support the future of farming by hosting educational tours and their annual Hoes Down Festival, a delicious celebration of sustainable food systems!

- Organic Tomatoes: What’s summer without farm-fresh tomatoes? Lucky for us, the climate in Capay Valley creates the perfect growing conditions for tomatoes, making Full Belly Farm’s some of the finest. Drop by our Produce Department for a rainbow of hefty, organic heirloom tomatoes, plus juicy, little cherry tomatoes all set to shine in caprese, panzanella, and so much more.
- Organic Melons: Soak in the sweet taste of summer with organic, locally grown melons from Full Belly Farm. They grow so many different types melons, you’d probably be a melon-aire if you tried them all! From Galia and Goddess melons to Sugar Babies and more, enjoy all sorts of sweet, unique varieties while they’re still in season to find your favorite.
- Organic Peppers: Shishito peppers are slender, small, light green, and one of the tastiest peppers grown by Full Belly Farm. Mildly spicy (usually!) with grassy and citrus notes, these peppers take on a smoky, peppery flavor when cooked. Try them grilled, sautéed, or tempura-fried to bring out their fantastic flavor.
- Organic Flowers: You may fill your belly with other produce from Full Belly Farm, but you’ll want to top your table with their gorgeous organic flowers! Depending on the season, you can find beautiful blooms like their organic sunflowers, consumer bunches (bundles of one type of flower), and mixed bouquets fresh in our Floral Department. Drop by to see what’s in season!
