We received more than 400 entries from local 4th and 5th grade students, and we’re delighted to announce the winning masterpieces.

We received more than 400 entries from local 4th and 5th grade students, and the winning masterpieces were chosen for each category. The masterpieces are in and the judging has commenced in the 2014 Children’s Heart Art Challenge! We invited local 4th and 5th grade classes from schools near each of our stores to participate in our art contest, sponsored by Nugget Markets in partnership with The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.
Nugget Markets and the American Heart Association along with the AHA’s Go Red for Women campaign are committed to promoting heart-healthy lifestyles for everyone.
In keeping with that vision, Nugget Markets proudly partners with the American Heart Association for the second annual 2014 Go Red for Women for the Children’s Heart Art Challenge, sponsored by Nugget Markets.
Thus educational outreach is designed to bring heart-health awareness to local 4thand 5thgraders in a fun way by inviting students from local schools to take the Heart Art Challenge, using art to describe what it means to be heart healthy.
The Sacramento region is the nation’s Farm to Fork Capitol, and we had an amazing experience interacting and serving our visitors at last week’s Farm to Fork Festival in downtown Sacramento! As a major sponsor of Farm to Fork Week, Nugget Markets partnered with the Sacramento Visitors Bureau and local businesses, farmers, local producers and non-profits in celebration of everything our area has to offer. Festival-goers got to sample Nugget Markets specialties from departments such as our deli, bakery, cheese, produce, and grocery, and learn about our history, our local offerings, and interact with some of our local farmers. We even gave away organic dog treats for our four-legged festival goers!
This past weekend we were thrilled to participate in the first Farm to Fork Festival in Sacramento. Part of our display included some very fun pallet gardens filled with edible herbs, flowers and ornamental peppers. They were a huge hit, so we wanted to share how to create this beautiful, decorative and delicious wall of edible art. Follow our simple tutorial to give a pallet a second life, creating a palette of colors for your palate.
