CSS began collecting food scraps from our West Sacramento store as a trial program in 2013. Soon after, our stores in Woodland and Davis joined in the program and started providing food scraps later that year. In early 2014, our Sacramento and Elk Grove stores started participating in the program, too.
Wow, what a weekend! Nearly 30 Nugget Markets associates and friends took part in the Sacramento Pride Parade and Festival Saturday on the Capitol Mall, representing our stores all the way from Marin County up to El Dorado Hills!
For 24 hours from April 30 to May 1, Nugget Markets team members and other excited supporters participated in this year’s Relay for Life at UC Davis. Overcoming gale-force winds all day, everyone had an absolute blast supporting a fantastic cause!

The world of cheese got extra delicious this weekend at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of California’s Artisan Cheese Festival. This celebration of all things cheese featured opportunities to meet cheese-makers, local farm tours, live demos and the main event: the Cheesemongers’ Duel.
