Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Place bread slices in a high-sided dish, pour the egg mixture over the bread, cover, and refrigerate for up to 1 hour (depending on type of bread and thickness of slices), until fully saturated.
Heat a large nonstick pan with 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Once melted, gently lay soaked bread slices into the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and toasty. Repeat in batches until all bread has been cooked.
Serve with maple syrup and powdered sugar or your desired toppings.
