For a fresh spin on a margarita, kick it up a notch with homemade Kiwi Simple Syrup!
Ingredients
Kiwi Cooler Cocktail:
- 1½ ounces silver tequila
- ½ ounce Cointreau
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce water
- ¼ lime, juiced
- 1 kiwifruit, sliced (reserve 1 slice for garnish)
- ¾ ounce kiwi simple syrup
Kiwi Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 kiwifruit, sliced
Preparation
To make the kiwi simple syrup, combine water, sugar and sliced kiwifruit in a pan, then cover and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 20 minutes covered. Strain simple syrup and chill in refrigerator.
To make the cocktail, combine all ingredients in a shaker and muddle. Add ice and shake vigorously. Pour contents into a rocks glass then garnish with a kiwi slice.
